Conventional rod joinery with small to very large diameters, complete bar packages, panel material, massive glued laminated wood elements or box elements and even 3-dimensional molding are machined efficiently, exact and with a high degree of flexibility on the TW-Agil. Two 5-axes units – one positioned above and one below the workpiece – enable complete six-sided machining. The conveyor batteries transport the components quickly and without slipping through the machining area. Performance, flexibility and precision merge to become a single unit thanks to the TW-Agil.
The high quality joinery center TW-Agil efficiently, flexibly and precisely machines rods, panels and box elements from 10 x 10 mm to 1300 x 400 mm.
TW-Agil - the feed batteries
The feed batteries transport the components quickly and without slipping through the machining zone. In addition they can be moved in the X-axis. Consequently the optimum distance from the clamping position to the machining zone can always be set – through to the complete joint travel of all batteries together for the transfer of the smallest parts. Components are clamped at four sides and guided – below and sideways by belts, above by a roller. The passage can be opened from 10 x 10 mm up to 1300 x 400 mm (WxH). The intelligent controller permits an acceleration of the components dependent on the mass of the workpiece. In addition the clamping/guidance is carried out by controlled axes, which detect and control the component dimensions.
TW-Agil - spindles
The two water-cooled 5-axis spindles, each with 24 kW, machine the component very efficiently, thanks to the 2-channel controller; while one spindle is working, the second spindle exchanges the tool.
Six-sided machining of the components is possible, thanks to units which can travel out of the machining zone on the Y-axis.
TW-Agil - tool changer
The two spindles each access a disk tool changer with 12 tool slots. In addition each individual tool changer per spindle accepts saw blades up to 800 mm. Alternatively the so-called high-performance tool changer can be used. This system consists of a pin tool changer standing vertically with 29 positions and a rotating gripper arm with two tool holders positioned opposite each other. The gripper arm removes the required tool from the changer, takes the tool to be changed from the spindle and inserts the new one by means of a rotary movement.
The tool change system enables the flexible use of special tools, such as e.g. cross-cut saw, marked, multiple drilling heads, adjustable slot mills ....
TW-Agil - inward and outward conveyance
The workpieces are loaded by means of a ribbon chain, whereby the inward chain conveyance can also be used as outward conveyance. Part of the inward conveyance is the roller track in line with the machining. The conveyor battery grabs the components from these roller tracks and pulls them into the machining zone.
The outward conveyance of the components first takes place over a roller track in line with the machining. This roller track is an integral part of the outward conveyance system and is expanded with a swinging mechanism. The track is thereby swung down by 6° until it forms a plane with several transverse roller tracks that are also inclined. Once the inclined end position is reached, the component glides out of the conveying area on these roller tracks, thanks to the gradient.
